Prerequisites: This 3-day course is open to all Veterinarians and Physical Therapists, and to Veterinary Technicians and Physical Therapist Assistants who have successfully completed Canine Sports Medicine. Veterinary Technicians and Physical Therapist Assistants must submit an Employer Agreement Letter indicating that there is a Veterinarian or Physical Therapist either certified in canine rehabilitation working in their practice or registered for Introduction to Canine Rehabilitation. All CCRTs, CCRPs, and CCRAs are welcome.

Course Description: Canine Rehabilitation and Clinical Orthopedics provides students with an understanding of advanced orthopedics and sports-related injuries and the rehabilitation treatment guidelines developed for specific conditions. Orthopedic and rehabilitation examination/palpation, gait analysis, and diagnostic and treatment techniques will be demonstrated and practiced in the hands-on wet lab. Actual clinical cases will be used to illustrate certain conditions and treatment options. Instrumentation, implants, and orthopedic devices will be available for demonstration. This course is now RACE approved by the AAVSB. Veterinarians and veterinary technicians will earn 24 continuing education hours for successful completion of this 3-day course. (Note: As of February 2011, continuing education hours have been increased to 24, reflecting the change to a 3-day course.)
